A couple weeks back, I entered a retro videogame music contest with a little song called ‘Dingos’. As per the contest’s guidelines, the tunes had to:
- Consist of only white noise, a triangle wave, and 12.5%, 25%, and 50% pulse waves.
- Be free of effects such as reverb and compression.
- Sound like the theme song of a videogame.
- Be 45-90 seconds long.
- Be loopable.

The kicker of the contest was that the legendary Grant Kirkhope would ultimately pick the winner. Thankfully, he chose Dingos! You can check out the announcement here.

I’m still speechless. This definitely made my year! Huge thanks to Shane Mesa and Grant for putting this contest together.
